Markets / consumers

Understanding and anticipating the expectations of consumer/citizens is a major issue in the extensive changes affecting the agricultural industry.  The methodology of the AgriMip Innovation cluster provides stakeholders in the sector with the resources to collectively organize, in order to innovate and improve their competitiveness.

Understand and anticipate

Through market/consumer orientation, AgriMip Innovation first seeks to understand the expectations of consumers and citizens, and secondly to foresee such expectations, so that agri-business players (in particular SMEs) can adapt their strategies.

Therefore, these strategies will no longer be induced by changes in consumer behavior, but rather deduced through forecasting of expectations.

Dealing with changes in the behavior of households

In recent years, stakeholders in the market have had to deal with changes in the behavior of households, characterized by three tendencies: the emergence of more civic-minded consumption, personalization of consumption, and diffusion of a consumer culture which challenges pre-established typologies.
Agri-chain engineering, developed by AgriMip Innovation, offers a methodology to optimize adaptation to the market and new trends.

Technological and scientific competencies

The competitiveness cluster brings together technological and scientific competencies able to provide a structure responding to the major concerns of markets/consumers.  Thanks to partnerships established with major international corporate groups (Danone, Unilever), the Midi-Pyrenees Region stands out for its head start in research in the field of human and social sciences applied to food issues, as well as forecasting and characterization of agribusiness markets.
