Agri-chain concept

espaceur
The agri-chain concept is the real specificity of AgriMip Innovation, and represents the cluster’s driving force.  By mobilizing every link in the sector, from market/consumer needs to engineering and production of finished products, the agri-chains enable stakeholders to innovate and develop their competitiveness by anticipating the comprehensive expectations of consumers/citizens.

Stimulating the information flow

Every product corresponds to the achievement of a set of players, each representing a link in the agri-chain.  Agri-chain engineering, according to the AgriMip Innovation methodology, stimulates the flow of information about markets by circulating it through the downstream links (food and non-food processing), toward the upstream links (production of agri-resources).

Agrochaine

Placing the consumer at the heart of the sector

The agri-chain concept guarantees the creation of innovative products, responding to consumer expectations and market developments.  The concept places the consumer at the heart of the agri-food sector.  Products are developed in response to consumer needs.  Civic concerns are also taken into account since agri-chains increase the safety of processes by improving product traceability.

Responding to the demand for quality

The agri-chains contribute to agriculture by facilitating enhanced market orientation of the agri-food sector (dedicated production) and adaptation, corresponding to the evolution of European Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
For agribusiness this represents the response to increased demand for quality and traceability through improved supply-chain control.

Three areas of innovation

Three main orientations provide a structure for research investments in the AgriMip Innovation cluster, and complement the methodology developed in the mastery of agri-chains:
  1. analysis
  2. processes/procedures
  3. markets/consumers
